MAKEOVER MONDAY: DREAM A LITTLE DREAM

You know I dream big! That said, I haven’t slept in days. I have been kept up thinking, wondering and brainstorming how to raise awareness for my Rockethub campaign and while we are on the subject money. If you haven’t seen the campaign, here’s the link: http://www.rockethub.com/projects/22909-sam-on-the-scene. The campaign details my quest to turn this blog into a book, celebrating the ability to create one-of-a-kind pieces for the home. It is all about the hands-on build and so is our Monday Makeover. Ironically the girl who hasn’t slept chose a headboard.

BEFORE:
SHAPED SLAB OF WOOD

A custom headboard starts with a shaped slab of wood. We like to make the wood at least 1.5″ thick. It is shaped and ready for upholstery.

LAYERS BEFORE MUSLIN

During the time the frame is being covered, another member of the Tiger Lily’s Team (www.tigerlilysgreenwich.com) cuts & sews the pattern of the bed together with finished welting. It is then applied to the frame. This fabric is LULU DK for  Schumacher.

AFTER:
BUTTERFLY BLISS

This bed is going into the home of a great friend who has a wonderful dreamy little-girl. It is my hope that she dreams big and her wings take flight as she grows. I always like to end a post with a quote.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.” – Henry David Thoreau

I do this everyday. I hope to inspire, educate and help people go forward with their dreams from a home that nourishes their souls. Thanks for all the support and hope to see all you guys donating to my #rockethub campaign.

ONE LOVE
