Who isn’t out there hustling trying to make an honest buck? I certainly am putting many irons in the fire and hoping at least one, possibly two pan-out.
It brings me to “Design Star”… With a media background why not throw my name in the ring as a contestant. I quickly threw a picture and bio online with the idea of updating it with pics, video to follow.
Brace yourself for the feedback. Thanks to my sister Felice who fired back in my defense.
Let it be said: Names will never hurt me

Home is where the heart is and for the young designer that means returning to Tiger Lily’s after several years traveling the country as a broadcast news reporter. It was her mother first who dared to dream creating the multifaceted design studio in Greenwich, CT. Led by example, Knapp set out, post graduation from Indiana University, to accomplish a path that would prove to be a memorable journey.
As Knapp tells it, to work in news you must be confident and have a passion to succeed, even when faced with unparalleled challenges. Television, as a visual outlet, demands creativity on a deadline. As a fast paced filter between the community and consumers, Knapp was expected to deliver breaking stories in a timely manner. At the forefront of her career Knapp was given story opportunities that allowed her to deliver lifestyle pitches to her audiences. Stories included touring historic mansions and celebrity homes such as Chris Kirkpatrick of N’Sync.
“I moved five times in five years each time for a better job,” Knapp said. “With every move came a new space that I could create, design and face lift to call home.”
In Providence, RI, Knapp hand-painted a black and white checkered pattern on her damaged hardwood floors to highlight the neighborhood vibe of Rhode Island School of Design. In Savannah, GA, Knapp went shabby-chic, inspired by a set of antique appliqué chairs she picked up at an area flea market. In Winter Park, FL, a hand-striped frame enclosing a vibrant conch shell defined her living space.
Her design talents traveled outside her ability to transform small spaces into lush living quarters. As a pastime hobby, Knapp launched a line of handbags; Knapp Saks. The bags range in design from diaper bags to overnighters and clutches to evening couture.
Knapp is currently pursuing her design career as the second-generation Tiger Lily’s protégé. While actively keeping her pulse on the media; Knapp is taking this time to grow her design expertise while shadowing the pinnacle years of her mother’s success.
As for her future plans, “I love being on-air and I love design,” Knapp says. “What can be better than fusing the two?”

thanks to all the haters out there. Actually this was just a work in progress, I didn’t realize you could not edit. But, don’t worry soon enough someone will cross your path today and be outrageously rude for no reason…makes me wonder how come you have so much time on your hands. Thanks for the support!

Looks like you’re hoping no one will notice the wallpaper that looks like it is hung with scotch tape….it’s not even installed and the seams don’t line up.
Plus, you should have waited until your sock marks went away before taking this photo! Gees!

You need to upload some photos of all this design work you’ve done, from Rhode Island to Georgia. Throw in some pics of those handbags, too. And good lord, “Design Star” is a television show so let’s get a video or two up in here. If you’ve indeed been “traveling the country as a broadcast news reporter,” then surely you’ve got a audition tape handy. You want this gig or not?

I love the wall paper behind you in this photo, but it is a bit distracting that you look so uncomfortable on your settee.

Designer Diaper Bags Review
hey. i think you’re incredible. i only read a 1 or 2 of those negative below. wow. i think you should shut off comments. the hell with them.
but back to why i came here –
i saw your selections on kings lane. i thought your objects were great. the seated furniture – most were very unique and cool and priced correctly. and the other objects showed an eye for interest and value. i look at all this stuff – and you’re one of the best i’ve seen – in this medium and audience.
finally – maybe once a year i spend my time to comment on something. and i came looking for a way to tell you – you’re a gem. AND spectacular looking too! and finally – kudos to you for all you’ve accomplished.
regards,
stephen
Stephen,
Thank you for the very kind words! It is very easy to drop a line and write as a critic etc, but it takes added energy and kindness to write a compliment to someone you don’t know. I very much appreciate your words! I wish you the best this holiday!
